Byline: Sheila Ahern Daily Herald Staff Writer Walk into Eddie’s Restaurant and Lounge in downtown Arlington Heights, and the regulars around the bar will swivel around on their bar stools for a peek. Talk of the Chicago Bears won’t stop. They’ll continue to sip cold draft beer with cigarettes resting on ash trays.
But they will pause because chances are they’ll know you. Eddie’s patrons know just about everyone because Eddie’s has been around a long, long time. As proof, the restaurant’s owners, Bonnie Knight and Ed Jensen, proudly display the restaurant’s original liquor license, dated 1949. It was the sixth liquor license ever issued in the village of Arlington Heights and cost $600
